Description:

The developers acquired a 30,000 square foot parcel of land with an existing single-family house in Silverlake with the intention of splitting it into 3 lots.  Organized around raised motor courts, three single-family units are designed to take advantage of views to the Silverlake Reservoir. Each unit begins as a rugged rectangular box clad in white metal panels that are perforated and corrugated. Smaller voids are then subtracted from each box to identify views and provide access. The resultant surfaces are clad in refined wood siding to contrast with the more rugged expression of the main volume.
